The Saint Bernadette Children’s Liturgy of the Word program allows children to gather in the Monsignor Stricker Room during the 9:00 AM Mass to celebrate a separate Liturgy of the Word that is more appropriate to their level of understanding. The program consists of parent volunteers within our parish who act as a Homilist, Lector, Petitions Writer, Song Leader and Runner for that particular Sunday. The children listen to the readings, Gospel and Homily; as well as participate in the prayers and songs, all of which are appropriate for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. After the petitions are read, the children return upstairs to the main Mass during the collection and carry the gifts to the priest.
